Desert Folly

A series of desert resting spots proposed to dot Israel’s Negev trekking and cycling paths.

The off-grid structures power themselves through solar panels which are used to cool the small interior, and to produce water using an atmospheric water generator. Each self-sustaining ‘cloud’ grows a trail of foliage in the image of a desert oasis using buried piping and a water tank.

Tired travellers can rest in a cool environment and load up on fresh drinking water, whilst the desert fauna benefits from the plants and a drinking hole at ground height.
